CUMBERLAND

(#28/100 North Carolina county highpoints)

Across from the Lamont Landfill, located on a fort formerly known as Bragg, we drive up a pine-tree lined road to our highpoint.

And there are….bins.

It looks like some sort of Forest Art installation by Christo and Jeanne-Claude.

Our 2023 “Bins” exhibit even has an artist vision statement posted nearby:

But enough of culture, let’s go find the highpoint.
It’s behind the chain-link fence.

Bye, Jim!
I sent a link to one of John’s art friends, DeLoss McGraw, who is a practicing artist (without a “retirement plan”).

You got a lot closer to the high point than most people could.

Although technically on army land, the road with the highpoint is actually outside the gates and accessible to anyone.
