Highland Highpoint

SCOTLAND

480′

(#26/100 of North Carolina county highpoints)

No bagpipes greet us in Scotland, but we do get the music of a neighbor’s dog who makes sure we stay on our side of the railroad tracks.

…or else.

We decide to park and walk because there’s only so much a Toyota Camry can handle!

The stand of trees at this junction looks good for the highpoint.

A’m hearing th’ reels ‘n’ strathspeys o’ win.

(That is, I’m hearing the music of victory)

Right behind the highpoint is the dove-killing field, which is what this NC Gameland is managed for, but fortunately today we are out of season.

So all the wee bonny birdies kin rest easy.
