Ten days to visit family and friends and see birds and other stuff

We were actually THRILLED to have the rain, because on the previous two days Seattle hosted the worst air quality IN THE ENTIRE WORLD, due to forest fires in the Cascade Mountains and months of unusually hot and dry weather.
That ended on the day we arrived!

From West Seattle we took the water taxi across Elliot Bay to downtown, guided by our sister-in-law Tricia.

And of course…

Another classic is the Seattle Zoo, which we visited with our daughter Margaret, son-in-law Chris, and grandson.

We had dinner with Margaret and Chris in Seattle’s oldest established neighborhood, Georgetown.

Quick visit in Kirkland with our uber-cool Aunt Jo.

She paints rocks, which are then released into the wild.
FYI: Kirkland Rocks has a Facebook group. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1789063091380508/

We stayed in Everett with our friends Dave and Virginia, and we had a nice walk–though birds were scarce–and enjoyed looking at Dave’s new toy and his well-kept aquariums.

The sign says, “Leave packages IN the waterproof bin.”
I sent ahead an order of “Gentle and Lowly” for everyone who hosted us overnight on the trip. I love books that stir your soul to gratitude and worship.

And that’s Part One of our journey: north along Puget Sound from SeaTac to Everett.
Early the next morning we caught the Mukilteo Ferry.

Mary this is beautiful thanks for sharing.
Love seeing you sharing family time.
